Girly Clothes

In which I draw everything but myself wearing my clothes.

Oct 17
I wanted to just keep this as a sketch. It felt appropriate.
This day, I was channeling my middle-school self. Unflattering shirt, unflattering pants, unflattering hairstyle (wait that’s every day). It was all very comfy, if a bit chilly. (That’s okay, it always gets too hot in our dorm room since the heater never shuts off.)
I love my Evil League of Evil shirt…I’ve been meaning to alter it to a more flattering shape and size for a long time, but I never get around to it. Plus, even if it makes me look three times as fat as I actually am, it’s really quite comfortable. And I get kind of excited when people get the reference.
The pants are cargo-ish, and a kind of weird shade of grey. I think of it as a bit greenish, but I don’t think it really is. They stop around my ankles, so I can’t really wear them with anything but flip-flops (or barefoot). The lower pockets and zippers make wearing them with boots a bit awkward…So it’s pretty much a slacker outfit. These too are comfortable though, so they’re for lazy days. They’re one of only two pairs of pants I own anymore…

The scanner did horrible things to this…
I wore this…yesterday, I think? Lots of pink— my shirt was pink too. I like that skirt a lot though. It’s not totally comfortable because it’s a mini-skirt; I feel like my butt’s going to show if I bend down at all, or when I sit. But it’s comfortable just to wear. Plus it’s my pirate skirt, with whales and crossbones.
The scarf is a nice one I got at the mall here, in a Hallmark store. It reminds me of a jellyfish because of the frilly edges. And it’s purple. I love purple. The weather’s getting cold here, so it feels good to be warm.

And then things started getting a little surreal. The shirt is supposed to be tie-dye. I thought it would be awful, and I was dreading it, but it was pretty fun. The jury’s still out on whether it actually looks like tie-dye though. (Oh well.)Those are my Batman boxers— those didn’t come out so well, and they weren’t fun to do. I’ll try to do them justice next time (GET IT) because they’re my favorite article of clothing. Really, I wear them as pajamas, but yesterday I only had one class and spent most of the day watching movies in my room. I didn’t feel like changing, so I just went and got dinner like that.

So here’s day two.I decided that with these, I’m just gonna draw whatever I want, however I want. Obviously there are a lot of issues with this drawing, but I kinda just went “FUCK INKING” and went with it. The skirt was annoying. Also, I’m wearing that shirt again today. It’s a nice shirt. From Costco; who knew? It’s been hot here in Washington. I’m really confused.

I got the skirt a couple of days ago at a vintage store. It was cheap and had skulls AND whales on it. I was just ecstatic that it fit. The shirt was a present from my dad: it’s from a coffee shop in…Portland I think. The design on it is really cute.I also wore a cardigan and my wingtip style heels, but whatever those’re a pain to draw. This was inked with a brush and India ink (gotta practice more), colored with prismacolor/copic/promarkers, and the tights are inkwash and acrylic for the splotches.
